Justice for Medicine defending the right to freedom of expression for medical professionals

www.justiceformedicine.com
On behalf of Justice for Medicine, I want to thank you for your continued support in defending the right to freedom of expression for medical professionals. I also invite you to our fundraising event on Saturday, May 24th, at my home, featuring speakers Michael Alexander, Derek Sloan, and Dr. Mark Trozzi.

Your past donations have been critical in supporting Dr. Trozzi's historic legal battle to secure a ruling affirming that all Canadians have the right to express minority or dissenting views on important issues. Dr. Trozzi's case was not only about saving his medical license, but about challenging the overreach of the administrative state, which has a pervasive impact on our daily lives.

Unfortunately, the Divisional Court ruled that medical professionals forfeit their right to free expression by joining a professional college, requiring them to adhere to the college's views on all matters. However, the fight continues thanks to the hard work of our dedicated lawyer, Michael Alexander.

Michael has used the arguments from the Trozzi case in two other cases involving attempts to silence elected officials in Ontario. The first of these cases was well-received by the Court, and we are hopeful that a future ruling could challenge the Trozzi decision, advancing our cause.

However, as we continue this vital work, Justice for Medicine faces significant outstanding expenses from the Trozzi hearing. Michael has worked tirelessly on behalf of Mark at great personal cost, often working pro bono, while funding litigation expenses out of his own pocket, which, unfortunately, has not been adequate to cover all costs and a substantial debt remains.

We are asking for help in retiring this debt to ensure we can continue our mission. Our goal is to raise $40,000—and we are already off to a strong start, with one generous donor contributing $15,000.

We hope you will consider joining us at the May 24th event, where Michael will discuss free expression in Ontario politics, the impact of the federal election on our mission, and the meaning of the dismissal of charges against Dr. Charles Hoffe by the B.C. College of Physicians, which is a positive and welcome development. As well, Derek and Mark will provide updates on the leading issues in politics and medicine.

Your support—whether large or small—will help us preserve the right to free expression. We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment and hope to see you at the event. For more details, please see the attached flyer, which indicates how to register to attend in person. If you cannot attend, the event will be livestreamed. Donations can be made on our website: www.justiceformedicine.com.

Thank you for standing with us in this important fight.

Warm regards,

Barbara Burrows
